I mean come on, just because your Asian, Hispanic, White, or Black doesn't mean you divide the teams up with the rescpective race. That honestly is stupid to me. What do you think?

I really don't see what the big deal is. No one complained when the men and women were split. No one complained when the ages were split. Now, all of a sudden, because race is entered into it, everyone has a bug up their *ss. I don't get it. Everyone gets put together eventually anyway and they'll still be battling each other. Frankly, besides winning immunity for the whole tribe, they'll be basically voting out their own race anyway. I think it will be an interesting social experiment, just like the others...regardless of race.

Well, they are trying to raise the ratings and people have been screaming for years that there weren't enough minorities on Survivor. So, now they have plenty.

The thing is, it doesn't matter whether or not people approve of the concept for this show. Mark Burnett and CBS are betting that you will watch it anyway--just to see what happens. Even people who are mad, some will watch it. Viewership goes up--and that means the network can charge more for commercials. It's all about the Benjamins as they say. Right now, Survivor is getting a lot of write ups in magazines (Entertainment Weekly has a front cover promo and a lengthy article inside) and word of mouth will generate interest. I predict that regardless of whether the concept is appropriate or not, it will lead to success and big bucks for the show.

I'm not angry about it because I think reality shows are stupid and I don't watch them, but when I heard about it I was surprised because how will the results be interpreted? Does this supposedly make the race who wins the "superior" race? Jesse Owens already debunked that when he beat Nazi Germany in the Olympics in front of Hitler, so what is the real purpose here? I'd rather see mixed race teams - at least that, to me, would be worthwhile because it would force people to put away their stupid assumptions about race and work together.

I can't say I ever watch Survivor, but the show is interesting and how they take "taboo" subjects and deal with them in a contest. For instance, they had men against women. Older men, young men, older women, and younger women. Agism is something that happens very frequently, but no one complained when the teams were split into age groups. Sexism is alive and well and yet, no one complains when the groups were sorted into men and women.

I think its dumb also. Why don't they cast more Asians, Hispanics, and Blacks in the regular two tribe shows. It's like they have to have a special show in order to cast minorities. Pure Ridiculous!!

It is more realistic. people do segregate them self's in a time of unknowns. race or language and belief. How do you select a equal team?
The voting off is the stupid part of the show.
They should compete like any team and the team should win.

I didn't know that that was how they were going to do the tribes. I guess that I just don't care anymore about that show. It jumped the shark for me a couple of islands ago.

Honestly, I think they're just doing it for higher ratings. Nobody watches that show anymore. I know I won't be watching this season, either.

Who cares? I don't understand why it is that serious. It doesn't mean that each race doesn't like each other-- it's just a new twist that will raise the ratings.
