I was pleasantly surprised with how Silent Hill came out. The series is my bf's fave and he was gung ho to see the movie. From the opening with the long road and the fog, I was like "OMG, it's exactly like how Silent Hill 2 was!" Then, seeing Pyramid Head in all his hellish glory had me sold. It had some serious freak the hell out of you moments that had me jump more than once. I'm glad the film was rated R also. I have to laugh when I see movie trailers on tv for upcoming horror movies and the vast majority are PG-13. C'mon! How scary is it gonna be?!
SH was great..great enough that I bought it on Tuesday

Ah liked it.. a lot. The creatures are familiar from playing the first Silent Hill for playstation (except pyramid head), and i grew up watching gory horror movies like Hellraiser, Nightmare on Elm st, etc so i'm kind of numb to the disturbing images. Have to admit though, the janitor with his legs tied and twisted over his head was extreme nastiness! I like how the movie ends with several unanswered questions, and leaving the viewer to decide on what really happened to Rose and Sharon. Great adaptation.

I liked it. Although it did have a few flaws here and there, it stayed true to the look, feel and the overall atmosphere of the games. I think it's one of the best, if not the best videogame adaptation so far.
But if you think the movie is scary and disturbing, the games are even more so. I still can't play those games at night - lol.

I thought "Silent Hill" actually had some genuine scares, not just the random abrupt loud noises/ movements meant to get a quick jump out of you.
I enjoyed it in the theatre, and I can say I thought it was one of the better horror movies I've seen in a while.

I liked it two. We got it Tuesday and I have watched it three times since then. I love horror movies but have to admit I was getting really bored with them lately. But Silent Hill broke the boredom. It was the best horror movie I have seen since the 13th Ghost.

The movie was good, but I like the video games better. They are really disturbing.
