The manufacturers name tends to be above center in the dial. This position of the hands tend to frame the name. It's a advertising gimmick that started with the Timex TV commercials.

oh yeah! you only see one clock who displayed for sale. The thruth is time of face clocks & face watches is 5 past 35 . The look face is like a strength people

Aside from the symmetry, it allow the customer to see all the features of the clock or watch, especially when there are lots of dials

one time i heard it was the moment when abraham lincoln died.

or was shot by booth.

folks used that as a reference.. or something about clocks were stopped for the memory of lincoln or something.

unsure.. that was one of the more interesting explainations.

well i never really noticed the time on all of them i guess cause it might be the time at the place it was made, which might have been china cause they make a lot of the stuff we have.

it has no batteries in it so its always stuck at 10 past 10. :)
