We're going for Labor Day weekend ballgame, and I googled the area. However I wondered if anyone had been there and actually knew the best points of interest. Thank you in advance for your help.

The Hands-on museum is fun for kids. There's canoing at Gallup Park http://www.ci.ann-arbor.mi.us/CommunityServices/Parks/Canoe%20Liveries/liveries_main.html

If you want to drive out of town, the Henry Ford Museum is in Dearborn, about 35 mintues away and is very nice; also next weekend is the Michigan State Fair which is pretty fun if you like state fairs. http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/section?Category=ENT07

The Huron river is an awesome river to canoe they have short trips, that are over beautiful sandy clear water. You can swim in the lake after you are done. There are amazing restaurants and great shopping downtown or at the Fairlane mall. The U of M campus is beautiful also for a stroll!

Just a short trip south along US 23 to Dundee is a Cabela's which is amazing with a mountain and a trout stream inside, with some of the biggest trout you have ever seen and they have a freshwater Aquarium that covers 2 rooms. A game restaurant upstairs and even wilderness inspired furniture. There is also a St. Julian's wine tasting room across the street and back toward town there is a Jerky outlet with an amazing array of home made Jerky and imports!

Hey there!!! I'm from Ann Arbor its such an awesome little city!!!

There are some great live music joints such as

The Blind Pig

Goodnight Gracies
http://www.goodnitegracie.com/

Also the weather should be beautiful out so you can walk around Main St and side streets there are a ton of little shops and cafe's to check out.

If you are there for the whole weekend I would suggest heading out to Livingston County (Pinckney, Hamburg) and get out on the lakes!!
