I'm not that familiar with the Y&R storyline, but basically when someone is killed off a soap opera, it means either their contract negotiations fell apart, or they wanted to move on to other types of acting.

I dont know, I have been trying to figure that out too.. Unless he has some personal health issues or just decided to retire...I think Gloria is gonna win out in the end though.. Jack and Ash are gonna be amazed at what is in that envelope from the prison chaplin...

Well, I went to the web messageboard for the show to see what was going on, and they said he wanted to retire. And since his contract was coming up to renew, he just didn't want to. But he did say he will do a few guest appearances, as John's ghost for the show.

Isn't it horrible? LOL! I don't really watch it, but my mom does, and she says that he is getting old and wanted to retire. That's what they do, play a tragic death on T.V., to be off of the show.
