Look at someone's answer history to see what kind of questions they tend to answer and develop an idea of their personality by that.
If so, why do you do that? Do you contact them to compliment them on a really good answer?

Yeah, it's the real thought provoking ones, very original ones.
You can surely tell if it is a freak fest.

Yeah, just looked at yours and made an opinion on you as a result of your asking this good question.
I also like to tell people when I like what they've said. I'd never contact someone personally to be negative, but without hesitation I would, to say something positive.

Yes. I've done this a few times. I've read questions that were so inflammatory or (what I deemed to be) foolish, I wanted to know whether the person was being facetious, or serious.
It's quite enlightening.
You're welcome to go through mine. You'll find quite a selection of answers on various subjects- some much better thought out than others. Some emotional responses, some random opinions, some probably just dead wrong. Except for my answers about digital cameras- I really do know a lot about them. :)

I have done that, but I only look and wonder. Sometimes their answers are real thought provokimg. Other times it's a freak fest. So I just keep to myself and wonder.

Not answers, but plenty of times I've looked up people's other questions. Sometimes you can't tell if someone's serious, or they just ask certain types of questions to be a jerk. Also, if they're just a perv pretending to be a kid. You can get a pretty good idea if they're worth the time to try to answer based on what they've asked before.

I will say that I have looked at some people's history but I have never contacted them to give them a compliment. I expect myself to give good answers every time. I just check their history to see if I can see a pattern of how they answer.

I have done so a couple of times when the asker has referred me to them....and a couple of other times because the person seemed so _______ (sluttish, immature, perverted, etc.) that I had to read to see where they were 'coming from' before I could answer. I did it today to a girl that asked only 'guys' what flavor of ice cream they like best...username was something like Hot Gurl etc....wondered if she was a bot...lol! I thought....oh Hell no, not bots on Answers too!

If someone has funny answers, I'll check out their other answers for a laugh--it generally pays off. Or if someone has the same interests in me, I'll take a look. Not a stalker, though, just interested.

I might look up someone's question history if they tend to answer questions like I do, so I can look at some of the other recent questions they've answered and join in the fun. :-)

If someone gives me an inappropriate or rude answer, I will look at their answer history to see if they usually do this or if my question was really that stupid.
