Actually this is a effect of shaving, your underarms are not used to the rough thing you are doing to the skin. After a few weeks of lotion applied to the area before lotion enriched deodorant you should be fine. Many of the people are saying switch to natural products, which is a good tip because scents and certain chemicals aggravate them more, but its not actually the problem.
I had this problem and I hoped I helped!

First stop using the deoderant you are currently using and switch to an unscented. If your like me you might be allergic to the perfume. This should also change the smell. and get rid of the rash. Also use dial antibacterial soap to clean your underarms. Try Arrid XX it works fabulosly.

I didn't have the smell... but I had the itch and bumps. It was my deodorant which I had a reaction to. I changed and it went away! I used to use the flaky kind and now the gel kind works best

Go without either for a couple of days.

From then on, shave when in the shower, but use the deodorant 12 hours later-it'll work fine and won't irritate.

Keep on shaving but use a natural deodrant. Go to the nearest health store... ask about a natural one... lol.

It might just because of the shaving cream you are using, or the deoderant, or both. You should try switching brands.
