My car is running sluggish now, especially going up inclines.

you need back pressure to obtain horse power and with bad exhaust you wont have any back pressure chek the converter and the oxygen sensor also

I wouldn't worry about post muffler exhaust but I would be concerned with anything before the muffler, including the muffler itself. Engines run better if there is a certain degree of compression at the exhaust manifold.

the hole must be in front of a sensor which is making the car run like that

Overtime it could messup your valves due to loss of backpressure
