The people that actually work hard for a living and pay out the butt in taxes. That is called socialism and is why Europe is so messed up. Germany and France are good examples and right here at home we are going broke. L.A. county and San Diego are good examples why it is a bad idea. Where does all of the money come from? The tax paying people. Just from giving the illegal aliens free healthcare has literally cost billions of dollars in this country. The health care garbage is a lie told by the libs to get a vote towards a communist/socialist agenda and take away our Democratic Republic.

LOL, good question. Got me thinking for a while. In actuality, if universal healthcare is run well, everybody wins. We all win when our neighbours are healthy and productive. It's along the lines of having public roads instead of roads just for the wealthy. Good health is good for the economy that the rich are so obsessed with... But if you're greedy NOW and want as much as you can get, as fast as you can get it, universal healthcare will cost too much. You'll want low taxes instead.
Many rich people are blinded by Legalist type views. They are highly cynical and negative people incapable of seeing possibilities beyond exploitation which they like to call 'survival of the fittest'. As if the game isn't rigged. And as if nature's design by default is the best we could do as a society.

The doctors who only care about their bank accounts (not all, some are really humanitarian and donate their time to treat the uninsured) and the drug companies who charge such outrageous prices ...I was on line at the pharmacy the other day and a lady who worked all her life had to pay over $400 for two prescriptions..She told me that her job did not provide medical coverage and she made too much money $8/hr. to qualify for any kind of Medicaid..I know several people who work 40 hour+workweeks who don't have medical insurance...This is a disgrace in the richest country in the world.
What costs the taxpayer more will be the long term affect of not caring for the sick and truly disabled(not freeloaders faking disability). We need to set our priorities straight in this country and start taking care of our own people and country and then we can worry about the rest of the world..Charity begins at home ..and if you look at the health care crisis in this country , we better start doing something soon..

the VERY FIRST answer is yet another example of an opinionated, uneducated ignoramus.
those that don't work, usually qualify for medicaid. hence, have good insurance. it's the working class people that struggle to make ends meet and more often than not, in order to do that - the health care option has to be cut from the budget. this country would have benefited long ago if we would take a good long look and seriously consider doing as our neighbors do. Canada has the right idea.

Tax payers, people who can afford to take care of themselves. Screw those lazy mooches. Edit: Yeah what about them? If you've been working "all your life" you should have insurance, and or have money saved up for emergencies. I do think, unlike advocates of universal health care who want to help the lazy and uneducated. Oh yeah, me? Uneducated ignoramous? No, I am very well educated, just because I value things differently than you doesnt give you the right to judge me. Now who is ignorant?

Not all those people are lazy mooches , ALOT of people have jobs and still can't make ends meet. What about people who have worked their whole lives and then get cancer. Think before you open your mouth.

If its privatized and has a board that actually cares then it might just be the big insurance companies that lose.
