Even if you 'ghost' wrote the lyrics they are yours. You therefore own the copyright - why give this up? If the song is a big hit it will make millions. Keep the copyright and charge royalties for use.

Don't charge and don't ghost write. Be a co-writer of the lyrics. You'll have a better chance at a successful career that way.

Charge him an upfront fee...but dont sign away your rights to the song...ask for any royalties that may result from song sales.........
people are making money off songs written 20 years ago....
Never ever sign away your rights to the song..its your baby... :)~
