I live in Iowa. I have to say, it is not the best place I've ever lived. I liked Oregon a lot better. Jobs are plentiful and pay pretty good, but socially, nada! I guess if your 60 years old it would be ok. ISU is nice, I live in Ames, so I guess I live in one of the nicer towns here, but it's pretty lame. Not much crime though, that's a plus! OK, so there are good and bad things about it, like anywhere, When I lived in St. Helens the mountain blew up, at least I know that won't happen here! lol

I live near Chicago and go through Iowa on my way to Nebraska to visit relatives. It used to be that the way I could tell the difference between the two states was at the Nebraska state line the sign that said "Welcome to Nebraska" there were cows welcoming you by the sign. But, Nebraska has gotten so boring you get to the Iowa state line you see runaway cows in a cornfield. Now THAT'S excitement!

IOWA??? It's a "place to grow!" That's where I grew-up, and learned good values and work ethics. My family still lives there and when we go on vacation...Iowa's the place to go!

I appreciate how easy it is to spell. Unlike many states that I've Misspelt in my 26 years, Iowa has never been one of them. i've never been there, and I don't know what the state bird is. It's got to be better than the state Bird of Florida, the mosquito.
