I have never heard of a Black Country singer before, so I think you have an advantage, No one wants another Britney Spears or 50 cent, You'll be an original so I say go for it, ppl shuldn't stereotype that it is white ppls music there are ppl (like you) that think otherwise!

As far as the bus stop.
No, actually, I am from Tennessee and half of the people I know love country music. The thing is half the people I know are also racist sobs. They happen to go together often, And because the 'South' actually make up most of the sales of country music... Unfortunately, I don't think a female black country singer could get more than one song on the radio.

Well I would think if she had talent, she could go far......

There have been people in the country music industry that wasn't the "typical" country singer type, but they made it.
And a lot of country now, if it has a bit of pop sound to it, hits the pop stations......

Charlie Pride was a black country singer back in the 70's my parents had his albums, he was pretty good..

GOod Luck to you, or whoever it may be

God Bless

As far as your voice and talent will permit. There aren't many black female country singers that I've heard of, so if you have the talent, give it a shot.

Very far indeed. There are two in Nashville right now who are doing VERY well. One of them is touring as an opener for Glen Campbell.
