I have a Goldstar Dehumidifier (bought in 2003). It stopped running yesterday. Even though I set the humidity control to MAX, it would not run either. But sometime it may run for 10 minutes, then shut down again for good. It never happened like this before. When it does run for 10 minutes, ,there is no hot air blow out.

Make sure that you have the water bucket hanging properly. If the bucket is not activating the over fill switch it will not work. The humidity control may not be working but that is rare.

Sounds like it's time to get a new dehumidifier. You might want to spring for a better manufacturer next time. You get what you pay for.
