I have known this person for 7 yrs now in a professional setting; we both work as artists (drama, dance, etc) I have been developing this feelings for him during these yrs,, and now I realize that I love him. I realize that life is short and that it has to be lived to the fullest. You are here today and you do not know about tomorrow.
I have two choices: to tell him and be rejected and move on with my life, or not to tell him and live with the uncertainty of what it would have been like if he had corresponded to my feelings.
I really don't know what to do. we are both in our late 30s and we are both experienced adults.
Please, serious answers.

You don't say whether or not either one or both of you are involved in other relationships. If the answer is no, then you are both free to love each other. I would think that after seven years you'd have picked up on some clue somewhere along the line as to whether or not he is interested in you romantically. Think back and see if any one moment stands out. If not, then I'd say go for it. You are in your 30's and you're not getting any younger. Besides, you said yourself that life was too short. I suggest that you push the possibility of rejection out your mind. I don't wanna sound negative, but tomorrow may find you forever at rest in your grave without ever having known whether or not this possible relationship might've worked out. Go fo it, hon!

Unless this person is esccedingly shy and hasn't had any relationships that you know of in the years you have known him I'd say don't tell him. In my opinon you have developed a fantasy love based on an ideal of a person, I have done it before. Unless you really spend alone time together don't share your internal deep feelings as they may exist in a universe that is is better doesn't implode and leave you feeweling hurt, confused, and wishing for a different reaction. I don't know if that's what you want to hear but that is my gut reaction.

"I have two choices: to tell him and be rejected and move on with my life, or..."

well there's a pretty good chance that you wont be rejected, too! and especially since you think you love him, you probably would have some idea of how he will react to you telling him. yes, it will probably be pretty daunting, but since you're asking us, you probably have already decided to do it somewhere in your mind, and now you're just looking for a little reassurance to help you take the plunge. i'd say, go for it! decide soon that you're going to say something, perhaps not entirely directly, mind you, and just do it. you'll feel better, and if you start things off somewhat slowly, you wont have to fear complete rejection.

good luck. :)

I qwould say you should tell him that you like him and if he rejects you that's ok because life goes on and don't let that get in the way of your life. Also don't let drag you down and feel embaraced and etc. So yah I really think you should tell him because I mean you will feel better and you will feel really realeaf from it.

Please go ahead and tell him. If you are both mature, you will get a real and mature response....

You're right...Life is too short to not take these chances...

Besides, a chance at true love is a chance always worth taking
