Myth! My sons heart beat was so different every time! The only thing that was true for me was how you carry the baby! If you go straight out - boy. If you go out on both sides - girl. But, the whole time everyone thought i was going to have a girl because of his heartbeat... NOPE! I have a beautiful son! Good luck!

Its an old wives tale. I was always told girls beat faster than boys. But it just isn't true. Heartbeats at an average rate for a baby...not for the sex.

It is probably a myth, but that is what my doctor said the first time we listened to my second child's heart beat. She said we would refer to it as my "little man" because the heart beat was fast and that usually indicated a boy. Sure enough....I had a boy!

myth..it depends on how active you baby is It has nothing to do with the sex of the baby. Don't believe any of the crap you hear about how to tell if you are having a boy or girl.

Totally myth..,certaintly not an exact science. I was to have a girl but........when we were told this , we walked out of Dr. office , hubby looked at me and said....I don't care what she says , I don't do girls LOL. He told me I could buy JUST 1 girls outfit...he was right I had a boy ,,,,don't ya hate when they r right lol , in all seriousness as long as they are healthy, that's what matters most.

I am a mother of four, and I couldn't tell you the honest answer to that question...My son &daughter-in-law just had a healthy baby boy in January...She is a nurse & she thought all along that it was a girl, by the heartbeat. Boy, was she surprised, and so where the rest of us!!! He is a wonderful Grandson!

well really it has no scientific backing behind it, but it was true with me. But actually its the girls heartbeat that is faster not the boys. if it is 140 or higher its a girl, lower than 140 its a boy. also as mentioned above, the chinese calendar was accurate with me, i didnt believe it either but it was right in my pregnancy.
