long distance never works out been there done that too many times!

Absolutely they can work out - I am proof! But a lot depends on you as an individual and a lot depends on him - Your age, past experiences, and commitment as a person. It takes a lot of hard work, trust and dedication to the relationship and if you are not willing to make the sacrifices, OR if he is not willing, then you have no chance. But this is true of EVERY relationship - in reality - if two people are good together and they want to be together - they will work it out no matter what the distance is...

And this isn't fairy tale stuff I am talking about - I know from experience. I met my husband while he was going to West Point (in NY) and I was in college in MO. We only saw each other every 6-8 weeks for two years - but we were faithful and dedicated to the relationship because we truly believed in it - and it was long distance from the start - we never lived in the same state until we got married (six months after our college graduations) and we have been married 7 wonderful years.

So - be honest with yourself - are you capable of the hard work and sacrifices it takes to make a long distance relationship work? And is he worth it? Does he feel the same way? If yes - don't let anyone else misguide you - you can do it. But if you answer no to any of the above - then think again - because the relationship would probably fail whether it was long distance or not.

I think it can work if u were in the relationship before and became very close b4 the long distance, otherwise there is so many other issues that u will have to deal with, like insecurity, loneliness etc. If u believe it can work go for it, personally I wont as i've been there, being apart creates so many oppurtunities to cheat without really feeling guilty, than again every one has different experiences, hope yours work though!!

I guess the answer is that some do and some don't. I lived in Scotland while my fiance lived in Germany for 18month. We saw each other for 2 very short weekends a month. I even spent 4 months in the South Atlantic during that time. We've been married for 15 years now and I'm glad we stuck it out back then. Each relationship is different though, you have to have a life too so try to enjoy the time you have apart and don't just live for the times you see each other or you will be miserable. Good Luck

I lived almost 2 hours my husband while we were dating. He was in the Army and I was in college. We dated for 3 years before getting married. If you both love each other and if you both TRUST each other then it will work out. Long distance relationships take a lot more work than other relationships. You gotta make trips to see each other which means getting time off school/work, you gotta call each other a lot, etc.

In my case, all that work was well worth it.

Contrary to what the cynics say, distance is not for the fearful, it is for the bold. It's for those who are willing to spend a lot of time alone in exchange for a little time with the one they love. It's for those knowing a good thing when they see it, even if they dont see it nearly enough..
Distance between two hearts is not an obstacle, rather a great reminder of how great true love can be.

I'm currently in one right now and this has been my first long distance relationship so far it has worked out and things are going good you just need to be strong and have faith that things will remain fine. You must also have trust because if you don't trust your partner it will never work out. Good Luck!

I just tried to do it I didn't succeed. The guy i felt was the man of my dream. But I couldn't handle it .It requires a lot of communication for me because I am a very sensual person. He was not that type so I think I came off as being to aggressive. But if u both try to take each others personalities in strive I think it can work.Faith & Action will bring u Hope

i did for 3 yrs and we are married now. we use to live10 hrs away from each other.

i think it depend on who your having a long distance relationship with.

most ppl can't for the simple idea that they can't see each other all the time and they are afraid of the other person cheating on them. so they end the relationship for sake of a broken heart later on.
