No! That is horrible; after all that your spouse has been through, leaving them is not the right thing to do.
In a marriage, sex is part of it, yes... However, a marriage should be based on many other things! If you love your spouse, although paralyzed, you'll find other means of pleasuring one another and could even ask a doctor for professional sex tips.
I'd never leave the one I love because an accident took their ability have sex away. It's not fair to them and when you love someone, you shouldn't leave them because you can't have sex with them.

That would really depend on the person it happened to. I happen to work with people who have been paralyzed. Sometimes it's permanent, and sometimes it's not. Sometimes the person can be paralyzed, but still have sex (a condition called sacral sparing in which the innermost part of the spinal cord, the part that sends nerves to the genital area, is not damaged). Another way to think about this question is if you are paralyzed and can't enjoy sexual contact would you still want to get your partner off? I don't think anyone can know what they would do until they are in that situation with their partner.

God created a man - Adam -and then he created Eve from the substance of the man (just exactly how we do not know) then he brought the two together to be a couple, this was when marriage was instituted by God, it has a mystical dimension. This dimension has been emphasised in the Bible for marriage between a man and woman has been presented in God's word as being the representation on earth of the mystical relationship between the true followers of Christ and Christ himself Eph 5:23-32. But the lesson seems obvious to me, that when the right man and the right woman get together in Godly marriage, they make a wonderful complimentary completeness and this union is the most secure setting for the birth and nurturing of the next generation. This completeness is only a possibility, until the two realise they specially and uniquely love each other and pledge to be faithful in marriage to each other, for life. When this pledge or covenant is made in the Marriage Ceremony, before man and God, then a spiritual dimension is added to the coupling. All this is not possible between two people of the same sex even though they pledge a loyal devotion to each other for life, in this case it is a contract. Atheists have not the spiritual enlightenment to perceive this. Christians who want to make life easy in a tough situation may also twist the significance of this profound Truth which is taught in the Genesis creation story. Personally. I have every sympathy for those who would like to follow the Biblical marriage formula but because of circumstances they are barred from doing so, and there are many adverse circumstances that block the possibility of an ideal marriage for many individuals - the homosexual orientation is one such hindrance - some forms of disability - and so is forced or arranged marriage in some cases. In my opinion, the strength and value of close but platonic friendship has been ignored, even belittled, in our sex-obsessed era. In earlier times quite a few people did not marry but had close ties with both family and friends.

No I would not leave....If you love them no matter what you would get by without sexual intercourse. Of course there are things that can be done medically to make it possible for a paralyzed man to have an erection.

If I were the paralyzed one I would want my husband to continue to have sex with me. Even if I couldn't feel it, I think your brain is your most sensitive sex organ anyway.

I'd remember the wedding vows...for better or worse...and would stay with them. Love doesn't always involve sex, and, these days with all the toys and ideas out there, someone could live with a paralyzed mate. Just think how that paralized person must feel when they get frustrated cause they can't do it anymore.

A man can still have sex with his wife it would require some ky jelly. A guy can get the pump installed and still get a hard on for the wife to sit on :) There are ways around pleasing the spouse after a life changing injury like the one you mention.

Sex is only a moment of biological need.

I always feel that couples who enjoy each other's company in Life don't really need sex to hold on together. The urge will fade out as we aged.

As for me, I dont think I'll leave my husband since we are so used to each other that just being together without any activities doesn't make us feel insufficient in the relationship.

I would not leave my spouse because they were not able to perform. I would include my husband in my masturbation. He could still kiss me, or I him. He could still watch me and in watching be a participant. If he had use of his arms, he could still touch me. There are far too many sex toys on the market these days....where there is a will there is a way.

NO, I wouldn't leave them. But eventually, sad to say, I think I would find a lover on the side. I know, judge me if you will, but I know my husband would understand. Marriage is for better or worse. I'd never leave him in a million years for that reason. But I need my happiness and health as well. And we all do what we need in this life to get by.
