I was just wondering because I hear about all these animals being critically endangered and I never hear any of them going extinct.

The IUCN (International Conservation Union) lists more than 300 species that are considered extinct as of 2000.

These include plants such as the Hawaiian chaff flower (last seen in 1964), clams like the Coosa elktoe and Carolina Elktoe and numerous birds like the Mauritius blue-pigeon, Rodrigues pigeon, Martinique parrot, Guadeloupe parrot, red rail, Rodrigues rail, mysterious starling, Dominican green-and-yellow macaw, Cuban macaw, and the Labrador duck.

Some of the larger animals declared extinct include two species of emu (the King Island and Kangaroo Island species), the Falklands Island wolf, and the coolest named rodent ever, the Indefatigable Galapagos mouse.

Most of these species actually went extinct many years ago, but were only declared extinct recently because with critically rare and endangered species it can be difficult to tell if they are in fact extinct, or if you just haven't seen one in many years.

lots of the birds in Hawaii and New Zealand have gone extinct in the past 20 years. The Hawaiian Crow went extinct in the wild in 2000.

The reason most people don't see most species going extinct is because its mostly the insects and other invertebrates that haven't been documented. Estimates of 50-100 species going exstinct each day worldwide, are based on a number of species which are specialists, associated with particular tree species. When large areas of habitat were and are still being cleared, say in the rainforests of central and south America very few of the invertebrates have been classified (out of sight out of mind!!)

I do. it truly is the splendid subject to do, animals are dealt with horribly and we haven't any genuine to kill them for our selfish desires. it is likewise undesirable for our surroundings. think of approximately it, how plenty land and meals is wasted, how plenty gas is used, how plenty better animal waste is created to develop animals in meat industries? the respond: plenty. the beef industry has a larger carbon footprint than the motor vehicle industry in u . s . of america. a number of human beings stay completely healthily with none meat in any respect. Pescetarian - Eats seafood/fish and dairy, yet no longer different animals like cows, chickens, or turkeys. Vegetarian - Eats dairy yet no animals, alongside with seafood Vegan - does no longer eat animals of any style or dairy. (Milk, honey, eggs, something from an animal truly.) i think of taking toddler steps is a robust thank you to flow, notably changing your weight loss software in one day is the two undesirable and complicated. decrease pork (pig and cow) out of your weight loss software for some months. (a number of human beings try this basically for well-being motives in any case, it truly is truly undesirable for you.) Then go pescetarian, then vegetarian, then ultimately vegan. i grew to become right into a pescetarian for 2 years till now I went vegetarian. i've got been slowly working in the direction of vegan for a while now haha.
