I was speaking with my Friend girl earlier today and was telling her about a movie based on the historic and one of the most successful raids against terrorists in history. The raid on the Entebbe Airport by Israeli special forces, where 10 arab and pro palestine terrorists with the aid of Gen president Idi Amin the dictator of Uganda. well within less than 1 hour or so the team rescued the hostages and left the area in record time with only a few casulties. Ok my friend girl made almost straight A's in High school and graduated and has never heard of Idi Amin and never heard of the Entebbe raid not one thing about it she's clueless! Well thanks left wing liberals for lowering the standards and lowering the standards so we graduate historical illiterates who dont even know history thats barely 20 years old! thats pathetic!

Education has been on a downward spiral since mid 70's .. and apparently is continuing that way...Bush has tried to put the brakes on it but may be too late for far too many..

I will answer the question posed by the above post.... The Department of Education (installed or created by the dems) has really done its part to deflate educational standards. It has fallen victim to the whims of the NTA. Reducing the quality of teachers and curriculum. In the 80's, higher education had to reduce their entry qualifications, just to get sufficient applications for matriculation. Like I saw somewhere else, why is it when the government puts more money into education, the cost of attending university increases?? Apparently money does not solve the educational problem.

How is this a failing of LIberals?? Dude most of the teachers in the public schools here in Oklahoma are conservatives and I mean red staters all the way.

How many people remember the German Anti-Terrorist team's successful storming of the plane at Mogadishu. Probably fewer than have heard about Entebbe.

We have been graduating historical illiterates in this country for a long time. Yale actually graduated one of our country's most famous historical illiterates....

... oh... because one person didn't care about the history of Africa... the whole system is bad?

Overall the raid isn't that big of a deal... it's tiny footnote in history... and has to be the worst example I've ever heard for the failure of the education system...

and how exactly did liberals lower the standards? examples please?

I guess we need people to do the jobs illegals won't do. Our education system is preparing them for it.
