Yes but you would need to upgrade the RAM that is needed to run OS X and you may need to upgrade the memory depending on what model

Don't get an older Mac. Get an emac. Less than 800.00 or the Mac Mini, less than 500.00. The older clamshells won't run the newer OS as quickly as the OS needs. Besides, buying something already 8 years out of date means you'll be doing repairs soon.

If you already owned the machine, and you were able to get enough memory into it (we like at least 256Mb, but, it will creep along on 128 mb), it would still not have the hardware features that modern systems offer, like FireWire, USB, and modern media drives!

I like my old 233mhz G3, but, I am letting it stick with the OS that it runs best!

I can get any newer laptop for $299 refurbished, and run any of the 800 BSD or GNU/Linux OSes, and they look like, and run like a MAC Tiger system!

Best thing to do with an Apple clamshell? Submerse it in the water at the beach and check back once in awhile to see if it produces a pearl!

Unlike a PC, software upgrades are often not possible. You would be better off getting a MAC with the system that you want on it.

It would probably be very troublesome, because you'll need more Space, More RAM, more everything. I once read the process, and it seemed pretty silly. However, yeah, it's possible.
