I've tryed Tools>Options>General tab> Homepage Several times to no avail. I've also tried to remove *.hta files that might have slipped into the system via ActiveX. Not working either.

internet explorer: click Tools->Internet Options then on the first tab (the one displayed first), look for the "Homepage" group (the topmost group) then type the address you want. For example "about:blank" or "http://www.MyOwnHomepage.com/".
If the textbox (the box where you enter your address) is disabled, it's probably a virus. Try Symantec's Norton Antivirus. GOOD LUCK.

1Tools
2 Internet Options
3 Now you are at the General Tab, so then set your site to what ever you want and click "Apply"

It should work.... unless you have a virus and something has hijacked you.
