An ice pack on the back of her neck for 20 minutes may help. Like mama2 said, if the cause of the headache is in the shoulders/neck, an icepack can numb the nerves that are sending the pain signals. (And if her headaches are chronic, a good chiropractor can help immensely)
If it's stress, see if you can help her reduce it. Try cooking dinner (or make her a healthy snack if you're younger), removing any distractions (like phone calls or rowdy siblings), and try to get her to lay down. You can massage her shoulders or feet, anything to help her relax. Good luck!

some people carry stress in the shoulder and neck area. I do. I will have a headache until I go to the chiropractor. My neck gets out of alignment. She probably has a muscle knot also. Those hurt, too.I say a headache for 3 days ---maybe she should be seen by a doctor.

Cold packs on the back of the neck helps.
Hot towels on the face and the back of the neck help enormously.
Try to stay away from her and let her rest till its gone. Stress will definately cause many medical problems.
Hormone headaches are like migraines. I had them for about 30 years and when I had a hysterectomy they stopped immedicately.
So she might check her ob gyn to see if its a hormone problem.
Of course I live and die by my Chiropractor (since I was a child) He keeps most of my current headaches under control.
Good luck Mom.

I had to go to the dr. today for the same thing. My headache started on Thursday and today I had to go to the dr. to get a shot to stop the pain. He told me to lay down and rest and have the room cool. I usually have these headaches after I have had a stressful day. She can also apply ice paks to her head, that may help. Hope she feels better.

I like putting a cold wash cloth on the back of my neck. It feels good and refreshing. You could try helping her out around the house or do whatever you can so she does less!!! Then maybe she won't be so stressed out.

A relaxing bath, then rub her shoulders and her feet. A cool washcloth behind her neck. Do what you can to ease her stress.

Take her to the bedroom, shut the blinds, and make sure the room is very quiet. That helps me with my headaches; dark and quiet rooms.
