What does it mean to be in the process of finding yourself?

Is there any way to screw this up? Because I don't want that 2 happen.

to determine who YOU are, what morals, values, rights YOU want to live with. To decide what you want to do with your life, who you want to be, act, live. I don't think the smart people ever quit the process of finding themselves. But it helps to have a goal, college, a career something at your age to strive for. Without goals you have nothing to achieve, without achievement you might as well quit now and go flip burger for the REST of your life!

"BE" brilliant at the basics.... Be the change you want to see in the world.... Be the first one.... Be the only one... Be unforgettable... Be interesting... Be a sleeper... Be that guy. Be the worlds expert on yourself... Be better than yesterday, but not as good as tomorrow.... Be confident enough to be humble... But : be somebody who reminds everybody of nobody else in the world....

to be in the process of finding yourself means that you are finding out your likes and dislikes. You find out what is important to you and what is not.
There are no ways you can screw this up but there are ways you can screw up yourself. For example, going out drunk driving and you kill someone. That is not finding yourself but making a decision that changes your life forever.

It means basically that you don't know who you are, what you stand for, where you stand, etc and are trying to figure it all out. I wouldn't say that there's really a specific way to "screw this up" but if it does happen it doesn't necessarily have to be bad. Just be aware of your feelings and if they're changing and just go with day to day life.

Oh, you will make many mistakes. it is how you deal with the mistakes that will shape your adult life. You may be beat up, but don't let yourself ever get beat down. It is not the falling that is the failure, it is the not getting back up.

I know these are old cliches, but they are true. You will not learn until you completely screw something up and if you never screw anything up, you haven't lived.

usually its when you get to a certain age and you start doing stupid stuff and your parents explain it by saying, "Oh he's finding him or her self." Really, its nothing to worry about, you're just being a teenager and there's no right or wrong way to go through this natural process we call "life"
