"Arsenic and Old Lace" is a wonderful play -- it's the first play I was ever in, by the way...!

It's what is commonly known as "Americana"...a term given to a particular kind of American play of that era. If I were looking for a monologue, I'd comb through other plays of that type. Here are some suggestions:

The Philadelphia Story
Born Yesterday
The Man Who Came to Dinner
You Can't Take it With You

You didn't mention which role in "Arsenic" you're auditioning for, but a monologue from any of the above plays will demonstrate your ability to deal effectively with language from the plays of that period.

Good luck!

i admire that play. The action picture version with Cary supply is magnificent. How long does the monologue might desire to be? you are going to be able to desire to do Mercutio's monologue in Romeo and Juliet approximately Queen Mab. or you are going to be able to desire to do a Twilight Zone, like "the place Is certainly each and every physique" or "Time sufficient finally". in actuality, "Time sufficient finally" became the occasion a instructor I had confirmed to the class as a astonishing occasion of a dramatic monologue. sturdy luck!

Arsenic is by Kesselring but Kaufman and Hart wrote a number of similar comedies and were contemporaries of Kesselring. Mary Chase who wrote Harvey and Mrs. McThing has some marvelous female characters.

Oh anything the old aunts say.. Those ladies were halarious. (I've only seen the movie with Carry Grant )But when they were explaining why they were killing off the guys is just too precious.

Give that a whirl?
