I don't think it necessarily means you are a downer, but you may not be invited because you aren't reaching out as a friend to others. If you are waiting around for someone to invite you to a party, you may be waiting a very long time. If you want to be invited -- you may need to invite people to your own party first.

If that isn't your style, perhaps you need to decide whether parties are all that important to you.

You don't need to go to several parties to be an OK person. Some parties are best not to be at. It also depends on if your out going and not to shy. Don't look at yourself as a downer you can be anything you want to be and don't listen to anyone who tries to tell you differently.

No, maybe you just hang out with people that generally don't have parties. I have only been to one "real party." That's because my friends just don't have parties. And if you really want to go to a party - you throw a party and invite people, then maybe you'll start getting invited to more parties. Have a good night!

You have to like people and be sociable to go to parties and I'm not that. I don't see the point in going to a place just be be seen and pretend you have friends. I couldn't care a less.

It means you're missing out on some great opportunities to meet chicks for one-night stands. And have great times with other guys like I did last night at my friend's friend's house.

Yes, especially if you are outgoing and have lots of friend, and no one invites you to their parties, then something is definately amiss. They may be sending you a message.

Maybe you should make yourself more noticed and liked in school or work. Don't be afraid to ask to be invited either.
