A lap pool will have lanes for people to swim back and forth only. It's really for people who want to practice their strokes or speed. A "regular" pool is open so you can play.

a regular pool is large a lap pool is very small, only about 10-12
feet long and several feet wide, it has jets to create a current
so that you are basically swimming in place (like running in place)

Pools are Like a penis...

Lap pools are long and narrow and regualr pools are fat and round... You can do laps in either, it just depends on your preference...

I think that a lap pool can also be one lane, but with a water jet that you swim in like you were actually swimming, but, ya don't move...
