My husband and I are ready to start trying for a baby, I came off the pill in May and this month is the month that we agreed to try. Now according to the whole ‘wait 14 days after the first day of your period to conceive’ we should have been trying since the 24th BUT I have been doing the First Response Ovulation test strips every day (it says to wait until your LH surge happens and then try to conceive) Well its now the 26th and still no surge…. Should we wait until the surge happens before we have sex again or should we start tonight??
My poor husband has already gone a week and a half without sex as we were trying to build up the sperm count for the big night. Should we wait a little longer and keep doing the test strips or throw caution to the wind and get it on tonight??

Not all women ovulate 14 days after their period. Everyone has differnt cycles...A common myth is that all women have 28 day cycles and ovulate on day 14...It is totally normal to have 25 - 40 day cycles. The longer your cycle...typically...the later you ovulate. You could try charting your temps and cervical fluid to find out when you are most fertile. Fertile cervical fluid is slippery and stretchy. If you feel dry or sticky...chances are you are not close to ovulating. A good sight to check out is Fertility Friend. It's free to join or you can pay a small fee for extra features. You just type in your temps...cycle length...etc...and they give you a pretty accurate time table to have sex for best chances of conception...I love it...I highly recommend it...if for no other reason than to get to know your body better. I also recommend the book Taking Charge of your Fertility...It covers all the basics...Good luck to you!...Oh and it wouldn't hurt to have sex tonight...Unless your husband/boyfriend has sperm issues...the more sex you have...the greater the chances of conceiving...Have fun!

Well I would say find out exactlly what is your ovulation day. Go to www.babyzone.com and fill in your last period day and they will tell you everything. But I have been told to just keep trying. Good Luck

Where did you get your info? HAVE SEX WHEN YOU WANT. If it's meant to be it will happen. Quit reading into things.
