Tuscany in Italy, Great food, so much history and art everywhere. The most beautiful scenery - fields of sunflowers, olive and poplar trees. Very friendly people just a great place to be.

Trinidad & Tobago!
1. Carnival, specifically Juve Morning - you wake up at like 4 in the morning and people are partying in the streets before dawn and having a good time without breaking and entering any of the businesses along the way/route.
2. Maracas Bay - this is the best beach I've ever been to because the waves were strong and the drive up there offered some of the most magnificent views I've ever envisioned.
3. Tobago - I had curried lobster for the first time ever and didn't want to stop eating.
4. Tobago - untapped, unspoiled beauty! - although tourism has picked up considerably since the first time I went there. The pace is slower, the people are nice and it's where the huge sea turtles migrate to nest.
How about you?

Having served in the us navy for 18 years, I just couldn't pick a best place.. there were so many where the scenery was beautiful, the people were friendly, and I had a good time...
Even a little liberty port like Izmir, Turkey was enjoyable after 5 weeks at sea.

I liked:
Flåm, Norway - it is on the tip of the narrowest fjords
Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe 1.5 miles of waterfalls!
Chobe National Park, Botswana - Elphants, Girraffes, Hippos
Iona, Scotland - serene, peaceful, spiritual
St. David's, Wales - rugged coastline
Interlaken, Switzerland - autumn colours of the trees with the Alps in the background
there are others, too.

I went to Half Moon Bay in Canada (British Columbia). We took a ferry to get over there.... And it was so peaceful, so beautiful, and a blast to be outside of the country! There are plenty of things to do on the coast and I definitely want to go back one day!

Fiji Islands. A truely beautiful place with no American establishments in existence there, not even one Mcdonalds. Green crystal clear water, friendly natives, and a sunshine that brings inner peace.

Niagara Falls, Canada - because it was the only time I went out of the US and it was the only really cool thing I saw in Canada. Canada is very nice and I would go back - but love the US.
