The intelligence range is probably evenly distributed through out every country, but in our country, we have let the kids get lazy. They don't get homework, or at least not enough. The US has less school days and less time in school then any other country. I am always amazed when I hear about educational systems in other countries, where kids spend much more time in school on a daily basis, have shorter vacations and then study on their vacations. Here kids go on spring break and get drunk.
If kids get too much homework, the parents complain.
What do you expect?

There are rankings you can check as to education - I think USA is starting to rank pretty low in math and sciences - - falling well back in many categories... If you ask most people in the USA, they think they have the best standard of living in the world.. The last time I saw a listing for this, USA was in the mid 20s as to standard of living..
I am an American - I live in a "third world" country which in some ways is more advanced than many places I see in USA.. and well, based on the above info., does that sound smart to you?

Yes. It's not just smarter, it is their culture and the WAY they are taught. The focus in their country in the educational system is higher order thinking (Bloom's Taxonomy).
Let's face it. We can study as hard as the Japanese do and still couldn't keep up. It is how they do it.

The Japanese. They spend long hours in school.They bought out a place I used to work at and took the idea home with them.
They are way a head of us I think.

Some are, some aren't. Some countries have their students working harder or, perhaps, better than do US students. Where we might allow students to use IM language too much or overlook it, other countries may not allow it - our students may be lazier than those of other countries because of such shortcuts.

do you mean ignorants? yes day by day most Americans are getting day by day ignorants education on USA do not worth a penny ask a kid on 11 grade to give you square root of 36 with out a calculator they can not do it
education on USA is in serious problem but no one does anything

Asian people are really, really smart. Even the ones who were born in and raised in the US are really smart. I've always wondered about that.
