That is about the most sensible question I have seen all day.
Im as gay as a 3 dollar bill, Im in a commited relationship, we plan to have children soon. I DO NOT EVER wish for them to be gay, it is a hard life. We are oppressed, treated like crap by many hate groups, looked at funny, cant marry, cant show affection in public, on and on and on I could go. Clearly no one want their child to go through that. Do you?

Rosie O'Donnell is gay and she is very outspoken about gay rights. I watched a special where her and her partner, wife, and children went on a cruise with only other gay families. At one of their stops, they were screamed at, called names, people had signs and were yelling as these families came off the boat with their families and children, some were pretty young. It was sad, some of the kids looked terrified and started crying.
That would be why she wouldn't want her child to grow up gay, because she knows exactly how homosexuals are treated and would never want her child to go through it. I feel much the same way, I hope none of my kids are gay, not because I find anything wrong with it, but because I would never want to see the harassment and pain others who are close minded bring to them.

Rosie O'Donnell is gay or at the very least Bi-sexual. Maybe she doesn't like to think what her daughter would have to go through, and maybe again, she wants grandchildren. Go figure.

Gays are exposed to nasty treatment everyday. We are sneered at, made fun of, ridiculed, left tortured and die hanging on a fence in Texas, shot in our own homes by lunatics, mocked and outcast by some very strange people, often calling themselves Christians. Why in the world would anyone want their child to have to experience this kind of treatment? Being pro-Gay does NOT mean you want your children to have a rough life...as long as bigots, ignorant and stupid people, prejudice, and hate stand in the way of understanding and acceptance, I would not want my child to be gay either. But, it is NOT what I want that counts, it is how a child is born that will determine if they are gay or not.

She's pro-people. She knows what a tough life her child would have if they were gay. Society can be cruel.

She is very pro-gay... but what parent would want their child to be something that is so hated and persecuted? She probably doesn't want her children to be atheists, either.
She's also probably realistic enough to know she can't control any of it anyway.

She was only kidding - she said she wouldn't want her daughter to grow up to be as much of a lesbian as Chastity Bono. It's no big deal, she was just funnin.'
