I mean what does the Haute mean, I know it is fashion, but the pictures look like halloween!

Paris High Fashion. Haute Couture is the creme de la creme of fashion, but it is NOT meant for normal folks to wear. It is almost wearable art (of a very high standard) but not wearable anywhere I go!
What is shown on the runway then is simplified and modified to what we eventually see in stores. It's fashion at the extreme.
