This one I can help you with, fortunately. If you are serious about nailing that quickly, get some lukewarm water from the tap and fill a glass about three-quarters full and then add a half teaspoon of salt to it and stir it up. Gargle the whole amount, sip by sip, slowly, small amounts, and deliberately. This will stimulate your body to produce natural saliva, which will help to flush out what is causing your sore throat. This is the beginning. Do this at least once now and before you go to bed. Then in the morning again before you have breakfast. Keep with it. Lukewarm, half a teaspoon, gargle, rest. This is the cheapest (salt costs pennies) way to heal a sore throat which is from ordinary causes. Give this a two day time frame, maximum. If you are not noticing a real improvement in the back of your throat by the end of the first day, that next morning, maybe give your doctor a call because it might need something a little more agressive to knock it out. Sore throats are a real nuisance, and you certainly don't want one spoiling your weekend. Sent to you with good energies from Chris in South Portland, Maine, U.S.A. (I am 63 years old.) (The salt gargle will slow it 'way down, if not stop it in its tracks.)

Gargling with aspirin or paracetamol. Also, rest - a sore throat is one sign that your body is fighting off an infection.

You could take merocaine lozenges or strepsils if it.s bad which have a local anaesthetic action or if you can take aspirin you can gargle with that and if painful drink it but remember to not take more than the recommended dose. There are also sprays you could use just go to your local pharmacy and they will help you.

I would normally take lozenges and take plenty of water. No oily or "heaty" stuff. And it usually goes off in a day or two.
