maybe the girl was not so innocent as perceived and was smart and wise beyond her years.
while the adults are all so dysfunctional and depressed, the girl is the one that brings the family together.
The strip scene was not crude nor tastless. It basically was telling everyone that dressing up little girls to look sexy like adults was no better than a girl stripping.
