According to Robert Englund (who plays Freddy in all the Nightmare on Elm Street movies) they are in the process of writing a new Freddy vs. Jason.
So, if the film gets picked up by New Line, you could expect it as early as October of 2007.
You might also like to know that talks of a prequel to "A Nightmare on Elm Street" are floating around.

A while back there were rumors of a Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Ash (from the Evil Dead trilogy). I think that one was put to rest. That's interesting about the Nightmare prequel.

That's funny my son and I were taking about that earlier, at the end even though Jason cut off Freddy's head Freddy winked at the end hints they'll be a sequel.

yes because at the end jason came back u know freddy never dies because everytime the fear grows his ugly self come back and Jason always seems to come back but who will be the new characters???
