the city will probably be destroyed.i think the govt. should be held accountable for the way they have abandon that city. I for one hope that Mayor Ray Nagin keeps saying the truth and making people listen. I think that if the govt. would give him and that city that money that they say they have than the mayor and the police and the schools could start up. money to pay people to clean up and rebuild. I am sure the people who use to live there would jump at the chance to work and rebuild their city. this govt is a farce.

It depends on the intensity of the storm.... Also a factor will be the quality of the repairs performed on the levee system. Ultimately if another strong storm blows in off the Gulf, I think it may totally devastate New Orleans. We'd have to evaluate the economic viability of rebuilding a major metropolitan area on a receding coastline. Living in the greater Sarasota, Florida area, I can appreciate exactly how much damage that storm did to New Orleans as so much of our development does not allow much over run for storm surge. Lastly, I feel that if another storm did strike New Orleans before solid repairs and emergency plans are implemented, the loss would be a total economic catastrophe as well. The Federal government and insurance companies are really not able to financially respond every time a natural disaster strikes, and I would imagine that the claims from insurance would cause prices to spiral out of control and contribute to inflation of the dollar.

I didn't know about a new storm hitting up New Orleans again! I hope it doesn't, it's already in a mess as is, and needs a lot of devoted attention to rebuild it. My prayer goes out to them, we all are united no matter what state we are from :) Hoepfully, the government will actually DO something quicker than to wait as they did the last time.

The levees will break and more people will be forced to live somewhere where they can support themselves without natural disasters ruining their lives.

Nature is in control and only they can be the judge of what happens and no amount of money can undo what we have no control of.
