Hello:
This is in response to your question about jock itch. If that is what you have, a red, itchy patchy rash on the groin and sometimes on the scrotum is caused by a fungus. It is called Tinea cruris and loves moist, warm, dark environments to grow. A quick and easy cure (usually about 7-10 days) is something over the counter with anti-fungal properties. I would recommend mycostatin cream. As your pharmacist where you can find it in the aisle. If these do not get rid of it, you may need to see a doctor and get a stronger antifungal medication like nystatin, mycolog or the likes. You can also use over the counter hydrocortisone 1% cream to help with the itching and inflammation.
Prevention is key: keep the area as dry and clean as possible. You may want to use baby powder after showering to keep your crotch dry. Try not to scratch down there either. The smallest break in the skin from scratching can help set up the fungal infection and/or a bacterial infection on top of it.
I hope this helps you.
Regards,
Warren Shaffer, M.D.

A fungus infection.
Wash wish soap twice a day.
Wear underarmour underware. Made of polypropylene. Does not hold water like cotton underware. That includes t shirts and socks.

Apply a fungus cream. All work, including the foot ones.
Takes about 1-2 weeks to go away.

Do not put powders. This causes scratching of the skin.

it usually lasts for no more then 2 weeks dude. but the best cure is to keep yourself very very clean with unscented soaps like unscented dove and keep yourself dry down there .. no lotions or sprays ok.. and keep your underware clean and dry. carry an extra pair if you have too
