There, there. Fear not. Just because they decided that Pluto is not a planet doesn't mean that it isn't there any more. It's still out there giving the Disney company an excuse for the dogs name (although somewhat less credible now).
Look on the bright side. We still have our own personal moon.

Geez I don't know what I'm gonna do! For seventeen years I've taught my students the acronym phrase "My Very Eager Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas" to help them memorize the planets in order. (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto) Now there's no Pluto! Gonna have to change my phrase and it's soooooo ingrained in me, I'll NEVER be able to shake it.

Pluto has been considered a planet since 1930 for Pete's sake! There must be a lot of people who feel pretty strongly about it too- I did a quick search and already found over 200 t-shirt designs on this site alone: http://www.cafepress.com/buy/pluto?pid=5720193 Save Pluto!!!!

Not gone, just downgraded.

From what I understand, it was either declassify Pluto as a planet, or add three more now and more and more later.

Now for the real question

How come Goofy can talk but Pluto can't?

I am kind of sad that Pluto is not a plant anymore. I think we should have a world vote on it to see how humans feel about the whole issue. I grew up with Pluto and I want it back!!!!!

It just goes to show you how often scientists have to rewrite their text books because they got it wrong the first time around. Everyone believes if a scientist says so, then it must be so, there is no chance the scientist could be wrong. This happens all the time, it is even happenning with the so called "big bang" which is really a "big DUD." Check it out

Chill out. It's not gone...

It's just demoted from planet status to planetoid.

Think of it this way....
If you could return to pre-puberty, then do it all again. Would you?

Pluto is lucky to have this second chance. Cudos to Pluto.

It changes things. Our perspective of the solar system, for one.
