I thought that after Franklin Delano Roosevelt died ending his 4 term presidential campaign that a law or constitutional ammendment was passed limiting the ammount of terms a president can serve.

I'm looking for a specific document or passage. And titles, numbers, passages, etc would be greatly appreciated.

It is the 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

"No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of President more than once. But this Article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this Article was proposed by Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this Article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term."

The 22nd Amendment, passed in 1951 set Presidential term limits to 2 consecutive terms and 10 years total...so a Vice President could serve 2 years of a previous administration and then run for 2 terms of his own. This was passed by Republicans after the 4 terms of FDR.
