The reason for that is they make a certain commision off that guitar. They don`t have a lot of money tied up in it so they make the best profit off that one type of guitar. This goes on in anything like cars , jewlery, eyeglasses , anything sold retail. I work in retail and have played guitar for years and they have the same BS line we do in the business I`m in. Let`s say they have $70.00 in the guitar and there selling it for $350.00 and they say well I can make you a deal on this one right here for$300.00 out the door tax and everythig. Makes you feel like you got a deal but they made $230.00 off of you and the salesman gets about $30.00 to $50.00 bucks of that!! Sell 3 or 4 of those a week and you have $200.00 in comm + your rg salary for the week.

Go to Guitar Center. They don't push you at all, and you can walk in and pull any guitar off the shelf and play it through any amp. They are extremely helpful and very flexible with their prices. Just don't get your guitars repaired there, it's expensive. If you want a nice guitar, go there.
