I’ll be the first to say that people are free to live their lives as they see fit. But this child is only 10 years old. If some SERIOUS changes do not occur in this child's life, he's in for a long, painful, miserable life.
It just makes me so furious at parents in the way they raise their children. Do they not care? Should the parents be prosecuted for child abuse?
It really just makes me sick...and sad.

It is sad, but before you assume child abuse you need to know that there are numerous medical conditions that could be responsible for this. So, as much as it seems the parents may be uncaring, they may be dealing with a very serious illness.
Why not try befriending him and seeing what his life is like? Not everyone is meant to live our socially "ideal" physical form.
Always best to investigate before calling in the authorities in cases like this. Good luck.

well the child is being fed by his parent and has a home so sorry no he is not abused. it not healthy for him to be overweight but it not abusive when the kid enjoys eating whatever he wants. yeah the parent might not be teaching him the right ways of eating healthy and stuff but that not being abusive. if he was abused then he would be extra skinny that you could see his rib cage, or bruises on him than you can take action than.

I have a relative who is 5 foot 8-ish and 180 pounds, 11 years old. It's quite funny to me tho.
He also can't even do push-ups on his knees.
my relative's parents see this as good, and love it how he eats so much...nobody else in the world seems to think that way.
I'm glad I found someone who beat my relative in weight!!!

put the girl on a diet and get her tested for diabetes... its sad but thats because all this girl eats is fats and sugar. she needs to eat veggies and get outside and play even if she doesn't have friends at least walk around town...

it take a whole village to raise a child....start jogging and get all the neighbour kids to run with you
