That happens to me too. I personally think the socks are probably under the dryer or behind the dryer. But I don't really want to look there in case there is a spider.

Do you actually count your socks before putting them in the washer AND dryer? I think that kind of acocunting could go a long way to helping you feel better. Or do like Al Bundy's neighbor and safety pin the pairs all together before washing.

the heat wear out your gentle socks and destroys them if you go to were all of your leftover lint goes you will find out that your broken down socks will be there also.
no joke and all jokes aside for you sarcastic ones they don't go under the dryer with the spiders they end up under your house or something like that.

Its a common thing,there are sock gremlins getting them,I always get the same colour socks(black) and the worst that can happen is only half a pair is missing.

Perhaps they get forced between the space of your dryer drum (the place where you put the clothes in) and the inside of your dryer.

To keep socks together up a latch pen after use this will keep them together. Your family won't do it but you can try.
