I have a legal and moral obligation to keep my pc 100% clean. An I use an antivirus/spyware program out of Beijing, China.

Just open Add Or Remove Programs in your control panel and delete PestTrap. I had PestTrap too , it is only a commercial, that requires to by that spyware removal for 50 bucks. Or download a free version of windows defender at www.windows.com

You can take a week or so downloading all the programs that beer_farts list and then running them, or you can do it the correct way and go here. Follow the procedure and use the programs listed. This is an Adware program and this site addresses these very well

Pest Trap is a Smitfraud infection. Most if not all general-purpose malware scanners can not remove it.
SmitFraudFix v2.81 should remove it for you:

hi, pest trap is a disgusting and infamous virus. perhaps you can try Norton to remove the virus. but you need to pay for the software.
i also recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.
besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.
firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

I highly recommend you download SUPERantispyware. It will remove pest trap. It is VERY VERY effective and it is free.

Do you mean that you do not have an anti-virus programme?
If not, download Avast Home Edition (FREE) Excellent programme. When installed it will ask you if you want to run on reboot. Say Yes and let it work it's magic.
