Perhaps, you have a history of times when you have acted against your own best interest. Perhaps, you're afraid of reaching success, or of completing your present game and having to start a new challenge. Maybe, there might be some laziness mixed into the brew. I don't know you at all to suggest something like that.
With repeated successes, however, you may likely learn to trust yourself.

You're immature and have not fully developed a sence of self. When you grow up (even if you are already an adult) do what you inherantly know to be the right thing. You'll usually be right and so learn to trust youself.

A reason for a person not to trust in their self would be that they have low self esteem and know they are not reliable. They have not followed through in the past.

I trust myself much more than I do other people. Usually, when you don't trust other people it is because of past experiences with liars, cheats, and theives.
