the posters have already addressed the celebrity issue, but here are some things you can try at home.
Be sure to wash your make up off before you go to bed.
If you use hair spray, try to cover or shield your face.
Every so often use an exfoliating cream cleanser. St. Ives apricot scrub is a favorite where I live, but it isn't for every day use. There are gentle scrubs for every day. Check around.
When a pimple appears, try using an antibiotic cream like neosporin. Don't pop it. the redness will worsen and if you squeeze too hard, you will bruise. It can cause scarring or even damage to the pore that can lead to recurring pimples.
I have heard that some people put a drop of visine on a zit to decrease the redness, but I don't know if that really works.
Use a light moisturizer that is good for combo skin.
I think the main thing is to have a routine, like washing your face every night.
There are alot of products on the market, from clinique to wal mart generic brands. try something and see what works.
Remember that acne is normal for your age. But you can do things to reduce it.

Ok here is what I do:
use a good mask 3 times a week...I use St. Ives mineral clay firming mask and it works really well, it costs about $2.50 so its relatively cheap.
Then Every morning and night I use a good cleanser, toner/astringent, and moisturizer...I use proactive but since you don't want to use that Biore warming anti-blackhead cream cleanser is really good and Biore will have good toners and moisturizers too you just need to look for which one will work the best for your sking type etc.
Also every night I use St. Ives Apricot Scrub it's and exfoliant and it is really good it makes your face so soft and clean feeling I love it and its really cheap too.
Also you can put toothepaste on your piimples and leave it over night and then wash it off in the morning before you do the other stuff and that works really good too, any toothepaste will work you could just buy a cheap off brand from like a dollar store if you didn't want to use the kind you use to brush your teeth but anyway I hope this helps and Good Luck!

Well sugar and a cleansing cream mixed makes a great exfoliate and scrubs away impurities. i hear egg whites can be used as a mask but I have never tried it. When my legs and feet get dry I mix virgin olive oil with sea salt and peppermint oil and scrub. It is great. St. Ives Has an inexpensive line of facial products that work well and you can get them at Walmart or the dollar store even. If you skin gets oily use some alcohol on a cotton ball. (I once got some bad acne on my chin and the doctor prescibed a medicine that turned out to be 99.8% alcohol)

go to this website and it gives you a bunch of homemade facial scrubs that really work! Also you can go to the store and buy the Nivea Visage brand Gentle Cleansing Cream. It is a white cream with little pink beads to gently scrub and moisturize your skin. If I use it everyday i never get pimples. Also don't wear so much makeup, only wear mascara and some lipgloss, everything else totaly messes up your skin.

I think the best thing you can do for your skin is to take care if it.. Your not going to find perfect skin in a bottle.. Wash your face every morning and be sure to take your make up off every night.. Be sure to use a make up remover and then a face cleanser..Be sure to use sunscreen (SPF 40) everyday..
If you wear make up, just wear the minimum you don't need to wear any foundation. Stay away from highly pigmented products such as Mac. Those will just clog your pores even more.. Your skin needs to breathe.. So, if you insist on wearing make up then take if off when you get home from school and don't wear any on the weekends. Drink plenty of water and keep your hands off of you face. You don't need the oil from your hands to be on your face. Also, getting plenty of sleep helps keeping your skin looking good. Clinique has a fantastic skin care line for combination skin.
Good Luck..
Your face is the first thing everyone will see, so you really need to take good care of it..

Talk to your doctor. You are so young you really shouldn't want to have to put all those harsh chemicals on your face. Its just something that most teenagers have to go threw. My opinion I think it just makes your face breakout even worse Putting creames on your face at such a young age. If you really want to keep your face clear watch the foods you eat. Especially chocolate. Keep hair off of your face and keep your face clean everyday. When you get a little older and you still have a problem with your face then try something with a benzoyl peroxide and see what it do for you.

Photoshop. And a professional make-up artist giving you regular makeovers.
Seriously, even the celebrities don't really look as good as we think they do. Don't set such a high expectation for yourself! While we all want to look good and be comfortable with ourselves its important that we have a realistic view of what we should look like. People are imperfect; skin is imperfect. Most all of us had to go thru acne. Even most celebrities! So don't put so much pressure on yourself...

One word: Proactiv. I've used it for a year now and still using it even though my pimples are gone. Within 3 weeks of using it, my face cleared up! It's absolutely amazing. Check out http://www.proactiv.com for more info on how to get your clear skin like the celebrities. Even Jessica Simpson uses this! I don't see what you have against Proactiv. It's just a small investment for clear, better looking skin. To be frank, it's the only thing that WORKS!

It's mostly photoshop, a lot of them have the same skin problems you do. Just go to the dermatologist and they can give you something to help you clear it up.

I know you said you don't want to use "Proactiv" but that is what celebs. use. Jessica Simpson, Ashlee Simpson, Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguleria, Brittany Spears. So Many people. Even P-Diddy. I don't know what you think is wrong with it and why you don't want to use it. It is the best thing out there. Use it for a week every morning and night and it clears up EVERYTHING and you wont have to use it for 2 months! Please trust me. I am a Licsenced Cosmetolegist! Good Luck!
