can you switch the local d disk with the local disk c cauce my disk c dont have anymore space to put my files

i did kinda tryed to make the files but, it kinda messed up my computer , and some of the files wont move

You didn't say what is filling up your disk. Lots of stuff has to stay on C:\ because it won't work any other way. Any directory that you put stuff into yourself could go on D:\ Some Music programs allow their libraries to be relocated.

Yes you can, but you need to know a little about partitioning software and the way it works, Mount, update MBR, etc. There is a program called Partition Logic that is free and it will mount the drive in question and switch which is the active one first, only one active disk at a time.


Felix is correct about this one, but the harddrive that is active now needs to remain, then you don't have to worry about the MBR, Master Boot Record

you can move files from the c to the d drive to make space, it really doesn't matter where you store files, you should always leave about a gigabyte free on any disk

Why would you want to partition a HD when external 200GB HDs are so cheap?
