Just so everyone knows, if you post an answer that this guy doesn't like, he sends nasty emails. This is the gem I got for posting an answer:
Hello C*nt,
You must be another robotic bush wacker.

Neither president can take credit....the DOD was pushing this for a long time...in fact Clinton cut by 50% the number of submarines only to realize at the end of his admin that this was stupid and had to backtrack. As a submariner myself, my days under Clinton were by far the worst due to having to go to sea more because of less ships to take care of all the missions that we do.
These subs were being built years before Katrina ever hit....if you live in a hurricane zone you take FULL responsibility for what natural disasters hit....not the governments.
The 688 class submarines are now pushing 20 years for most of them....would you rather we keep using outdated ships?

Good glad too hear that the navy got a new SSN into the fleet.....Now they just need too get the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter for the carriers......Let me know if you hear anything on the new carriers that should be rumored too be coming out in 2010.
I am sure the liberals will find someway of whining and complaining about it....I am sure they will even try to blame Bush for the navy getting a new SSN for the fleet! The democrats have a weakness when it comes to defense.

Many other regions have been shredded by hurricanes (remember Hurricane Andrew and the terrible damage it did to Florida?) Yet people in those areas managed to rebuild their communities with relatively little help from the federal government. Why do people like you believe that the feds should be 100% responsible for the rebuilding of areas damaged by Katrina? Do you feel that the people in those areas are incapable of rebuilding on their own? Or that they are deserving of some special consideration over and above that given to other hurricane victims?

There are two types of vessels, submarines and targets.
I bet the bubbleheads will be proud to serve aboard USS Texas. That's great.

They wouldn't be victoms if they didn't live so close to the gulf. No government has the resources to do anything about mother nature. How many more F-5s have to occur before people realize it's not safe to live down there.

It needs to debut at sometime. There is no time which is suitable to show a multi million weapon in a positive light.

Hats off to the Clinton Administration, they ordered this boat in 1998. Proof to even the most ardent Conservative that Clinton did do SOMETHING right.
