I believe it shows that in this universe more people care about the fate of a distant rock in space than they do about Tom Cruise...perhaps Mr. Cruise can take a lesson from this...

Since that's the case, Pluto will continue to travel around the Sun, but Tom Cruise will no longer be welcome at Paramount Studios.

The universe is becoming a better place...

All it'll mean to the universe is nothing of any significance but to us it'll simply mean Pluto will be referred to something else and Tom Cruise will form his own company or be picked up by another studio-he still has star power esp overseas. The Universe will go on just as nicely as before

the international astronomical union corrected the mistake of classifying pluto as a planet initially. this does not change anything about the universe, solar system or pluto, but it does change the language to fit observation.

(1) A classical planet is a celestial body that (a) is in orbit around the Sun, (b) has sufficient mass for its self-gravity to overcome rigid body forces so that it assumes a hydrostatic equilibrium (nearly round) shape, and (c) has cleared the neighborhood around its orbit.

(2) A dwarf planet is a celestial body that (a) is in orbit around the Sun, (b) has sufficient mass for its self-gravity to overcome rigid body forces so that it assumes a hydrostatic equilibrium (nearly round) shape, (c) has not cleared the neighborhood around its orbit, and (d) is not a satellite.

(3) All other objects orbiting the Sun shall be referred to collectively as "Small Solar System Bodies".

Absolutely nothing.

Pluto is no different than what it was a week or so ago. We came up with a better definition of a planet.

Tom Cruise (and the rest of hollywood) is still just as irrelavent in everyone's day-to-day lives as he (they) ever was (were). I can't believe how people eagerly suck up all of the garbage that comes out of show business on a daily basis.

That the world will once again become obsessed with Britney Spears and try that whole reality tv show thing with her and her freakshow of a husband......I think I might kill myself and spare myself the agony right now.
