rocksteadyman2 - google the phrase " forgot password in xp" without the quotes, there are several well known apps out there to reset it, Going to safe mode will not reset it, without knowing the original one to begin with. Linux is well known to help reset it. I do not post the links anymore due to questionable concerns on whether someone is sincerely locked out or if they are hacking someone elses pc, You searching my method, I will sleep better knowing that I gave you the gun, you pull the trigger when you want to.. There is absolutely no way you can do that. If you can, then what's the point of a password. Call your computer company for help. They can crack the password if you provide them with some of your personal info like your name, address, SSN #.

When your computer reboots press f7 and it will take you to safe mode then you can go inside as a adminstrator and change your password or add a new user
