Maybe it's me, but I just don't see a problem here. Kids, even adult kids, form their own opinions about their parents breakups. The one sure thing is that the parent who spends time running the other one down in conversations will be the loser. Maybe it's a test for him, maybe it's a test for you! If you are perceived as possessive by the daughter, it may be her way of pointing out to Dad that you aren't without flaws. Maybe it's just a little dig at you. My kids did this often, at first, after my remarriage and it worked. Jealousy reared it's ugly head often, even though I hadn't any contact for several years with my ex. Finally one day I'd had enough and told my wife to stop her jealous raging about someone I hadn't talked to in years, and told my kids that they really weren't doing any favors for my ex or me, as long ago I'd told her that I didn't have any feelings for her left, and didn't care if she lived in a mansion or a cardboard box - all the same to me.
Life is more normal now. My wife and I work on the relationship we have and don't fret over the past that can't be changed. My kids will tell me if their Mom moves (yet again), but openly and with their feelings of rejection being the real topic. She invites them to visit, but never stays long enough in a place, or relationship,to make them feel welcome to visit her. She doesn't come back to visit them, too busy.
Work on your relationship, don't worry about the small stuff you can't change. If your relationship gets the care it needs, it won't matter what the ex does. Don't try to make anyone make a choice between thier kids and you it won't help anything except continuing a dysfunctional lifestyle. Besides, if the object is to get you upset, and you don't get upset, I'd imagine that it would stop. Good Luck.

Look, this "old lady" was once part of his life. He is probably just curious to know what has become of her, how she's doing...etc. I know I get curious about my ex sometimes but it doesn't mean I want to be with him.

i think of that in case you have a pup doberman it wouldnt be a project and because it grows it would grow for use to the cat and the cat used to the dogs. Heres a tip from a pal you may make a puppet of a doberman the comparable length as a pup one so as that your cat grow to communicate approximately it then the authentic doberman pup wouldnt be a project

I would get him straight on this real quick,or tell him go find her and live with her.I could see if the daughter was young and he wanted to keep an eye on his daughter to see how she was being treated.

Ask him why he is so concerned about his ex. If he gets defensive then chances are he is still carrying a torch for her. We all get curious at time about our old loves....it may just be he is curious. Try not to read too much into it, but if it concerns you, ask him about it.

I would ask him why he is doing that. Why should he care where the ex is? Ask him what is going on with that.

So, what if he did? What is the problem? If you don't want to talk about it then set your personal boundaries and tell him straight out that you are not going to talk about it......period.
