I happened to slip over this banana, this is what Bush said, this is quiet recent.

"No, I don't know that Atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered as patriots. This is one nation under God."

-George H.W. Bush, 41st president of the United States

I mean, come on!
Bush a Christian? He doesn't have the slightest respect for any of the 10 amendments! He is not worthy of even utter the name of Jesus unless he means to ask for Christ forgiveness!
Please dont call Bush a Christian if u dont want to make God angry. A terrorist is all he is

This quote is from a campaign interview of George Bush senior.

That quote is an AWFUL thing for Bush to say, if in fact he said it. He had no right to insinuate those with a different belief system should have a reduced stake in this country. Differences in opinion are what this nation was founded on; this quote illustrates our former president's lack of respect for the constituency he was serving. Bush was using his Christianity as a political weapon, and that is really sad.

That being said, this quote is over 15 years old. Why are you bringing it up now?

This is a silly question in general especially those that are atheists that say President Bush is going to hell, since you're atheist you don't believe in hell anyway. Get a clue, and stop hating our President since at least he doesn't have an intern under his desk.

I'm an atheist, but I find it very hard to believe that Bush Senior really believes this. One out-of-context quote from a lifetime career in the public eye.

Interesting...where are this guys citations? I absolutely believe he could have said it, but there aren't any quotes around the words. It doesn't appear to be a direct citation. Do you know when and where it was said? It is definately worth looking into.
